HSA Chair Letter - 09/18/23

Dear West Morris Mendham Parents,    I would like to take a minute to introduce myself as your new PTO Chair. My name is Emily Ferguson, I am the mom of a senior here at Mendham and I have two more boys in the Mendham Township schools. I, along with the entire PTO Executive Board, am looking forward to making 2023-2024 an amazing year for all of our kids, teachers and our administrators! 
  BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT 9/21
We are excited for our upcoming Back to School Night on Thursday, September 21st. WMMHS welcomes returning guest speaker alum Connor Wills at 6pm in the auditorium. Connor Wills is a psychotherapist who will discuss effective communication strategies and other topics relating to parents and teens. Parents will rotate through their student’s schedules starting at 7pm.  
Please drop by the PTO tables during Back to School Night for refreshments. We will be on hand to help and to answer any questions. You can also sign up for membership and take a peek at our prize package! We are always looking for volunteers for committees; it’s a great way to connect with the WMMHS community.

The PTO has faced many challenges building back participation since Covid; but we would like to invite all parents to get involved because our goal is to support our students and their educators. We plan to continue our focus on enhancing communication and cultivating a strong sense of community by assisting wherever we are needed. You can help us reach our goals by taking the first step to sign up for Membership!

PTO FUNDRAISING We all want WMMHS to thrive and to make it very simple (No baking! No selling!) the PTO will be holding the Back to School – No Frills Fundraiser to get our year started. Your donations help our PTO function. We appreciate any amount given. Donors who contribute $250 or more will have their names published on our 2023-24 PTO Benefactors Page; names can be withheld if requested.
PTO Fundraising launched an exciting new e-gift program called RAISE RIGHT that has successfully kicked in and is currently actively raising funds for our PTO and the Project Graduation classes. Since the launch, we have raised over $1,200 to support PTO sponsored events. Project Graduation covers all of the expenses necessary to fund senior activities and graduation events. It can be overwhelming trying to raise those funds senior year but now you can start earning for your child’s class year from day 1 to get a head start! All classes going forward will have an opportunity to build their Project Graduation funds with proceeds from Raise Right. Please see all of the details on the fundraising page of the PTO website.

September has been designated for the class of 2027 to split all rebate money with the PTO to start building their Project Graduation account now. Months have been divided among the classes to help every class!
