Minding Your Mind

Hello WMMHS Families

The PTO, in coordination with the Mendham High School Student Assistance Coordinator, are pleased to offer an evening presentation by Minding Your Mind called Just Talk About It.

This presentation is open to parents, teachers and students 14+ on Wednesday, April 26th, at 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium.

Perfect for adult audiences, this is an introductory mental health education program hosted by a clinician that features a young adult speaker. Just Talk About It will educate participants to look beyond stigma and notice warning signs of stress, anxiety, depression, and crisis.

This 90-minute program opens with a Minding Your Mind clinician discussing the signs and symptoms of the mental health issues most prevalent in adolescents through young adulthood, and how to know the difference from typical teenage behavior. The young adult speaker adds a real-life story that illustrates the information from our clinician, transforming it all into relatable experiences.

The age of onset of most psychiatric disorders is typically during adolescence. Research studies have demonstrated that one in five teens will experience a mental health issue this year, but fewer than 20% of those will seek help.

Just Talk About It is an opportunity for adults to be educated on the signs and symptoms of a mental health issue, providing knowledge to act before a crisis hits.

Please sign up to attend this special presentation HERE.

We hope you can join us for this special evening.
